*****Notice of Intent to Sole Source***** The Department of the Interior, United States Geological Survey Caribbean Florida Water Science Center (USGS FL WSC) has a requirement to purchase a QL40-CAL ... *****Notice of Intent to Sole Source***** The Department of the Interior, United States Geological Survey Caribbean Florida Water Science Center (USGS FL WSC) has a requirement to purchase a QL40-CAL caliper tool with a QL40-FTC water quality attachment, and the associated case and attachment point (QL40-MS1, QL40-BOT) for power and data cables manufactured by Mount Sopris Instrument Company, Inc. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 334519. The size standard is 500 employees. The USGS intends to make a non-competitive award to Mount Sopris Instrument Company, Inc. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b) (1). As the manufacturer of the sought after items, Mount Sopris Instrument Company, Inc. is the sole source for purchase for all Mount Sopris instrumentation. No other vendor is able to supply these items as Mount Sopris Instrument Company, Inc. stated they only sell directly within the US. As a result, there are no authorized resellers within the US. This is not a request for quotation, and the Government does not intend to pay for information received. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Respondents will not be notified of the results of any Government evaluation of the information received.
