The U.S. Geological Survey intends to award a non-competitive purchase order to HySpex Inc. of Clinton, Massachusetts to install a visible to near-infrared and shortwave infrared imaging spectrometers (HySpex Corporation's VNIR-1800 + SWIR-384 cameras, rail, and tripod system), upgrade the controlling DAU hardware and software required to run it, and purchase calibration hardware that will allow lab users to monitor data quality for USGS EMMA Quality Management System purposes. The equipment is to be delivered to the USGS Geology, Energy & Minerals Science Center located in Reston, Virginia. The period of performance will be January 11, 2024 through January 12, 2024. Pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) Hyspex, Inc. is the only vendor that can supply the requested equipment, calibration and training because the system is proprietary. No other product can integrate appropriately with USGS existing inventory. In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by the agency, however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). Email responses to rlanderson@usgs.gov.
