THE PURPOSE OF THIS AMENDMENT IS TO PROVIDE QUESTIONS WITH ANSWERS. The U.S. Geological Survey, Eastern Ecological Science Center, located in Laurel MD, is seeking to procure a sequencing instrument for DNA and RNA sample analysis. The instrument specifications are as follows: sequence DNA or RNA fragments from 20 bases to >4 million bases; direct, PCR-free sequencing of native DNA and/or RNA; built-in methylation detection; direct electronic analysis of the target molecule, rather than sequencing a synthetic copy or using surrogate markers such as fluorescence; duplex data > Q30 (>99/9%) and perfect reads from DNA molecules 10s of kilobases in length; and, real-time sequencing. Quotes shall provide pricing and itemized component descriptions that meet or exceed the Specifications stated above. This will be a firm fixed-price contract. Quote submissions are due on or before 12/22/2023. The anticipated award date is 1/11/2024. The acquisition is a total small business set-aside. The NAICS code is 334516 and size standard is 1,000 employees. Vendors must be registered at https://www.sam.gov/ to be awarded the contract.
