The USGS Wetland Aquatic Research Center is seeking for potential sources to do specialized DNA services (genotyping by hybridization) for ongoing molecular research projects. Due to uncertainty of the nature of the projects and availability of samples, and the need for being able to go on with the available data and samples when they are ready, the BPA set up for five years, with no options to exercise will be beneficial. The period of performance will be from the award date to five years. For example, if the award started on August first, the POP dates will be 08/01/2022-07/31/2023 and four options as follows: 08/01/2023-07/31/2024 08/01/2024-07/31/2025 08/01/2025-07/31/2026 08/01/2026-07/31/2027 All qualified sources shall submit a response demonstrating their capabilities to perform the requested service to the primary contact below. Sources responding should indicate whether their socioeconomic status (e.g. small business, service disabled veteran, woman/women owned, HUBZone, etc.). The Government¿s evaluation of the capabilities of respondents will factor into whether the forthcoming solicitation will be conducted using full and open competition or as a set-aside for small businesses or small business designation. This requirement is expected to result in the award of a firm-fixed price contract. All responses shall be sent to hnair@usgs.gov. This sources sought notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government reimburse any costs associated with the submission of information in responses to this notice.
