The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified sources capable of providing Technical Support services related to specialized hydrologic laboratory equipment to be installed at a new USGS Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility, Tuscaloosa, AL. Technical Support services are required during the period April 2022 to December 2023. The specialized equipment includes a 250 ft tilting flume, a 350 ft tow tank with 5-ton carriage and a 100 ft test basin. Services include refining requirements; reviewing shop drawings; validating complex assumptions, calculations and models; inspecting mockups; defining configurations; inspecting installation; and participating in commissioning. This sources sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541690 Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services with a small business size standard of $16.5 million. All responsible sources may submit a brochure and/or technical material detailing the experience and qualifications of personnel who will provide the specialized support services. Responses to this announcement shall only be submitted to kmurray@usgs.gov no later than 1530 CD, March 31, 2022.
