The U.S. Geological Survey intends to make a non-competitive purchase order to Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) located in Texel, Netherlands for a Mono Corer to collect quantitative, undisturbed core samples from deep sea sediments, to be delivered to the USGS Wetland and Aquatic Research Center are conducting funded research studies on deep-sea environments in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, Atlantic, and Pacific Oceans. The most critical component of these studies is the quantitative collection of undisturbed sediment cores from remote deep-sea (>200 m) habitats.
