In accordance with FAR 19.5, Set-Asides for Small Business, the Government will review the information requested in this announcement to determine the type of set-aside (if any) for this requirement. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Patuxent Wildlife Research Center (PWRC) has a requirement for transcriptome sequencing services for differential gene expression analysis of RNA samples extracted from avian microbiome samples. Instead of the traditional (total) RNA-seq analysis the PWRC requires a more efficient approache that focuses on metatranscriptomics with depletion of highly expressed cytoplasmic and mitochondrial rRNA and/or globin mRNA. The service is to include RNA QC, Library Prep, library QC, sequencing, and delivery of data. Purified total RNA will be provided by the USGS. Issuance of a solicitation will be determined by the results of this request for information. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be made available through the Governmentwide Point of Entry (GPE), https://fbohome.sam.gov/. It is the offeror¿s responsibility to monitor this site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). The anticipated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541380 Testing Laboratories. The size standard is $16.5 million.
