The U.S. Geological Survey intends to award a non-competitive purchase order to Biotage, LLC, located in Charlotte, North Carolina, for a Horizon 5000 automated disk extraction system. The system is to be delivered to Reston Virginia. There are no option periods or line items. A Biotage system is required for data continuity and consistency with existing USGS systems and Biotage is the sole manufacturer and seller of the equipment. In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by the agency by 02/10/2020, however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). Email responses to mseda@usgs.gov. The U.S. Geological Survey Western Energy Resources Science Center has a requirement for a three-position automated disk extractor system that conditions the disk, loads the sample (20 mL to 2L) and elutes the analytes all without user intervention for generating extracts from liquids samples. Minimal Salient Characteristics/Specs - Be able to extract a 1(one) liter water sample for analysis via EPA 8270 method - Collect and elute analytes from a solid phase medium - Automated extraction procedure controlled via Biotage Horizon 5000 control software - Generate equivalent extracts to our current Biotage Horizon 5000 system All interested firms shall submit a response demonstrating their capabilities to provide the requested equipment to the primary contact below. Firms responding should indicate whether their socioeconomic status (e.g. small business, serviced disabled veteran, woman/women owned, HUBZone, etc.). The Government¿s evaluation of the capabilities of respondents will factor into whether the forthcoming solicitation will be conducted using full and open competition or as a set-aside for small businesses or small business designation.
