The Kern National Wildlife Refuge requires a contractor to spread approximately 1,280 tons of new 3/4" virgin gravel, supplemented by an existing 610-ton stockpile, over roughly 3.2 miles of road. The gravel must be applied to a width of 8 feet and a depth of 3 inches. The work location is the Kern National Wildlife Refuge, with the gravel stockpile located approximately 4.5 miles from the project roads. The contractor is responsible for loading and spreading all gravel.
