REPLACE SPRING FED PIPE: The Hotchkiss National Fish Hatchery, Colorado has a spring box that collects water and transport this water through asbestos-cement pipe to a sand settling basin and/or aeration structure, depending on gate valve management. The pipe is 12 inches and undersized. The current system causes high air content in the water and small amounts of sand. This project is to install piping from the spring box to the connection to the new sand settling basin piping and to the aeration structure, install butterfly valves, and restrain and/or bed pipe as necessary. Work is in a remote area of Colorado and has several aspects of risk regarding access to the spring box and work on an existing slope.
