The Umatilla National Wildlife Refuge has a very busy waterfowl hunting program. On a given hunt day, may host up to 100 + visitors. The volume of visitors, and the accompanying ¿hunt lottery¿ requires that the hunt check station be attended. An attendant is required to sell duck stamps, sell season passes, take daily fees, ensure that correct lottery winners are present and accounted for during the blind selection process, run a daily ¿standby lottery,¿ ensure federal and state regulations are being followed and organize the use of 43 hunting blinds.
