The U.S. Embassy Lusaka, Zambia, requires the expansion of the existing parking lots. The lots to be expanded are the: • Existing staff parking • West of the Chancery (secure side) • North of the Utility Building (secure side) This work will cover approximately 250 square meters of the crushed stone and grass in the current staff parking area, 240 square meters of the lawn areas located north side of the Util-ity Building and 240 square meter of the lawn area west of the Chancery Building. The Contractor’s employees will be escorted by the US Embassy FAC staff throughout the time they are at the work site. The Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) will oversee the performance of the work in progress. The project drawings and specification will be issued for this project. The works will be carried out in phases to allow for traffic flow during the construction pe-riod. The phasing of the works will be agreed with the contractor. The Contractor will be re-quired to provide temporary hoarding around the job site areas. The works will involve earth-works, demolishing, concrete works, paving, steel works, painting, minor electrical and plumbing works, tree removal and replanting.
