The Embassy of the United States of America in Lisbon, Portugal, will launch the solicitation on www.sam.gov website when it becomes available. GENERAL BACKGROUND Two recently constructed residences belonging to the U.S. Embassy in Lisbon require roof access from outside of the building for maintenance access. The Embassy of the United States of America in Lisbon intends to issue a Request for Quotation for a project that involves the design and installation of 2 (two) ladders structures for a recently constructed residence. The ladders will permit roof access from outside of the building for maintenance access. To accomplish this, a ladder structure needs to be fabricated and securely attached to the façade. It shall be both aesthetically consistent with the architecture of the residence by blending into the building, and a safe and practical fixture for authorized users. The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the lowest priced technically acceptable offeror who is a responsible contractor. The Government may award the contract based on the initial offer without discussion. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed price type contract. The Government is planning a pre-quotation conference, and the date will be in the solicitation. All contractors must be registered in the SAM (System for Award Management) Database https://www.sam.gov prior to contract award pursuant to FAR provision 5.207. Therefore, prospective offerors are encouraged to register prior to the submittal of quotation/proposals.
