The Embassy encourages prospective offerors to offer off-the-shelf plans that meet at least the minimum benefit levels required in this solicitation. ?The Embassy intends to conduct a pre-proposal conference, and all prospective offerors are invited to attend. See Section L of the attached Request for Proposals (RFP). ? The Embassy of the United States in Managua will issue a solicitation for providing health insurance for locally employed staff of the U.S. Embassy Managua, Nicaragua. The estimated number of employees is 677 with approximately 570 eligible dependents. Please note these are only estimated quantities. The anticipated performance is for a base year, with four one-year option periods, if exercised by the Government. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered. The U.S. Government plans to issue the solicitation in March 2022. The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the lowest priced technically acceptable offeror who is a responsible contractor. The Government may award the contract based on the initial offer without discussion. The resultant contract will be a fixed price with economic price adjustment requirements type contract under which will be issued firm, fixed-price task orders. The Government is planning a pre-proposal conference and the date for this conference will be in the solicitation.
