The Government is requesting information regarding Law Enforcement Telecommunication service support to allow Consular Affairs’ Passport Office to utilized both automated and manual queries to provide secure information services for the exchange of law enforcement, criminal justice, and public safety related information nationwide for the processing of passport applications for identity verification purposes. In 2009, the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Passport Services (CA/PPT) began manually verifying state-issued driver’s licenses and identity cards using services to verify Applicant’s driver license information that is typically documented at the acceptance facilities prior to the passport agencies and centers receiving the application. CA/PPT’s goal is to seek a vendor that provide these services to support the mission of the Passport Office to verify and process Applicant’s passport application at the different passport agencies and centers. In addition to the ability to run manual checks, CA/PPT desires the ability to have these checks executed in an automated fashion to improve efficiency.
