This is a Request for Information (RFI) per FAR 15.201(e) for market research purposes. The Bureau of Labor Statistics has been tasked with starting a new national longitudinal survey of youth (NLSY). As the first round of data collection is scheduled for 2026, BLS is referring to this survey as the NLSY26. The NLSY26 will consist of a cross-sectional (CX) sample that is nationally representative for adolescents aged 12-161 at the time of selection (December 31, 2025) and supplemental (SU) samples designed to produce, in the most statistically efficient way, oversamples of subpopulations such as Hispanics, black youths, and other populations of interest. The purpose of this RFI is to solicit feedback on sample design issues.
