The U.S. Department of Labor is soliciting offers from qualified construction contractors that have the qualifications and experience for construction services at the Gulfport Job Corps Center located in Gulfport, Mississippi. The work involves the construction of approximately 90,000 gross square feet of six new buildings using the plans and specifications prepared by Eley Guild Hardy Architects. The buildings include the following: Two story Administration/ Education Building, totaling 42,190 gross square feet (GSF); Single story Cafeteria Building, totaling 9,162 GSF; Single story Recreation Building, totaling 19,812 GSF; Single Story Operations and Maintenance Building, totaling 3,255 GSF; Chiller Plant, totaling 1,487 GSF and, Hard Vocational/Warehouse Building, totaling 19,417 GSF. The project has historical significance and includes supporting, preserving, and restoration of the existing masonry facades during construction. The façade work must comply with applicable historic standards. Also included in the work is hazardous materials remediation, utility installation, site work, landscaping, and demolition of existing buildings and temporary classrooms on the campus. There are two dormitories on the campus, which will remain operational for the duration of the project. Permitting is required. Permits shall be obtained and paid for by the Contractor. The period of performance is 780 Calendar Days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The estimated cost range is more than $10,000,000. The extent this requirement will be competed is under Full and Open Competition. The NAICS Code is 236220.
