The Federal Bureau of Prisons (Bureau) hereby submits a notice of a sole source, fixed-price purchase order, using Simplified Acquisiton procedures to Smiths Detection, Inc., located at 2202 Lakeside Blvd., Edgewood, Maryland 21040. The contract action is for the Bureau’s Physical Security Program’s narcotic trace and detection using Smiths Electronic Threat Detection (ETD) Ionscan 500DT and Ionscan 600. Maintenance includes on-site service coverage with extended hours, labor, travel time and travel expenses, and includes all replacement parts, technical support help desk, semi-annual preventive maintenance checks and loaner coverage. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with the ordering procedures at Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 8.4 – “Federal Supply Schedules” under FAR 8.405-6 – “Limiting Sources” and FAR 8.405-6(b)(1) – “Items peculiar to one manufacturer.” This acquisition is conducted under the authority of the General Service Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule (FSS), Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) program. This announcement constitutes the only announcement for this requirement. Quotations are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
