The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) requires Forensic Training in the area of Corrective Action Process and Cause Analysis. This course will teach the corrective action process as outlined in ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17020 and the approaches for effective cause analysis. The training will teach participants how to evaluate the significance of nonconforming work to determine if corrective action is necessary, the philosophy, purpose and benefits of performing an effective cause analysis, the process of asking ‘why’ at least five times to get to the source of the non-conformance, why ‘blaming the individual’ is missing the point, and the difference between correction and corrective action. The result of the training is that the participants will acquire skills, approaches and tools for evaluating and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of a management system through effective cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions. The training must be aligned with accreditation requirements. See attachment for additional information.
