The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a one-time, sole source, fixed price contract with Gentex Corporation , Address: 324 W Main St Simpson PA 18407 for the purpose of acquiring 13 of the Brand name OPS-CORE Fast SF Carbon Helmet System, to include carbon mandible protection and step in visor. Primary use of this equipment is protection from facial impact for operators in a maritime environment. This equipment is unique as it is the only helmet system available with enhanced impact protection due to carbon fiber construction that also has a visor which attaches via a rail mounting system able to accommodate night vision optics with integrated eye protection. Helmets provide protection in daylight and night conditions. Based on market research, it has been determined that only this procurement action can be facilitated with Gentex Corporation due to the unique nature of the characteristics of the brand name OPS-CORE Fast SF Carbon Helmet. Uniformity is required for safety and communication values. The FBI intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.
