The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award a firm-fixed price contract on a one-time, sole source basis to: Beacon Communications Construction, Inc., 7 Ethel Avenue, Hawthorne, NJ 07506 for the purpose of decommissioning the North Shore Towers in Queens, New York. Extensive market research, site surveys, and RF modeling were performed to determine the best locations for the ACRx nodes in New York City. It was determined that the North Shore Towers ACRx installation would need to be decommissioned and moved to a site that serves the New York Field Office in a better capacity. The site management company, Communications Leasing, Inc., has specified that the decommissioning services must be procured through Beacon Communications Construction, Inc. The resultant contract will fulfill the FBI’s requirement to decommission an active antenna system so that an ACRx node can be located in a position that will better serve the New York Field Office in support of FBI investigations. The FBI intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
