The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award a firm-fixed price contract on a one time, sole source basis to: Horiba Instruments Incorporated / SPEX Forensics Division, 20 Knightsbridge Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 for the purpose of providing the CrimeScope CS-16-500W Forensic Light Source and accessories which are proprietary products only available from the manufacturer, Horiba Instruments Incorporated, directly. The CrimeScope CS-16-500W is an Alternative Light Source (ALS) that has a total of 15 available wavelengths plus an additional 4 infrared wavelengths. The resultant contract will enable more advanced detection and analysis by the FBI. The FBI intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
