The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award a firm-fixed price contract on a one time, sole source basis to: Mid-Atlantic Communications, Inc., 68 Cool Springs Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22405 for the purpose of procuring and installing nine fuel bladders in deployable Ford F-450s. The fuel bladders will consist of RDS z373956 tanks, pumps, NTS wire, flue tubes and valves. The vehicles are currently located at Quantico, VA and this work needs be done within a 30 mile radius because of the urgency of this requirement and so that additional costs are not incurred shipping vehicles out of the area or by employees driving long distances to a vendor and incurring travel costs. In addition, these fuel bladders must be compatible in all aspects (form, fit, and function) as those installed in other Ford F-450s so that additional training is not required by personnel. The resultant contract will fulfill the FBI's requirement to install fuel bladders in Ford F-450s to meet mission requirements. The FBI intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.
