The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award a firm-fixed price contract on a one time, sole source basis to: Eaton Corporation, 8609 Six Forks Rd., Raleigh, NC 27615 for the purpose of providing the startup service, subsequent annual maintenance and warranty support for an Eaton BladeUPS 36kVA battery backup system which includes proprietary information only available from Eaton Corporation. Eaton startup and warranty service ensures the Eaton BladeUPS performs as prescribed during unscheduled power outages and power fluctuations. The resultant contract will fulfill the FBI's requirement to have backup power during unforeseen power outages that may cause Digital Collection Systems to fail and possibly cause irreversible loss of evidence gathering. The FBI intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
