The Special Operations Division (SOD) is responsible for supporting ATF's Field Operations mission to conduct criminal investigations, regulate the firearms and explosives industries, and assist other law enforcement agencies. SOD is committed to providing high-quality service, coupled with professionalism, to execute its operational objectives. SOD has a requirement for the purchase of 2700 Mod Tac M-RAC suppressor shields (also called covers) for the field offices. These suppressor shields will be part of a Suppressor package being rolled out to all ATF field rifles. The use of these suppressor shields will enhance ATF Agent safety by reducing the likelihood of burns by hot suppressors.
