This justification is prepared by the United States Department of Justice (Department or DOJ) in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.501, (a)(2)(i). The requiring organization is the Department of Justice Criminal Division (CRM), Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section (MLARS). The Department has issued a purchase order contract to Madison Associates for the purpose of providing professional services required to meet law enforcement and investigative needs. The contract’s period of performance is less than 30 days or from June 13, 2023 to June 30, 2023. The purchase order contract is necessary to continue MLARS Asset Forfeiture Investigative Support Services (AFISS). A previous order for similar services was issued against one of DOJ’s seven (7) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts to perform financial investigation services. DOJ has issued a new AFISS contract and is currently executing fair opportunity competitions to award new tasks orders under its new AFISS contracts. The MLARS order will be competitively awarded prior to June 30, 2023.
