The purpose of this procurement is to acquire information technology services to support application enhancements of the computerized information system used by the Bureau of Prisons Food Service department. The detailed product enhancements must provide the BOP with the capabilities to effectively manage store inventory records, menu data, recipes, nutritional data, budgeting function, inmate work assignments data, official out counts, pay sheets, and standardized forms such as Initial Job Orientation and Safety Training, equipment training, and Food Handler Orientation. Required by P4700.06 CN-1, FNS is maintained at the institution, regional, and central office levels and is the only approved computerized software. The Federal Nutrition System (FNS) is a food expenditure cost accounting system designed to determine cost per inmate per meal. The enhancement of FNS to allow for additional Physical Inventory functions in addition to the Quarterly Inventory function required and allow for RFSA to provide Group Membership FNS access for level 3 and below at the institution level. All FNS data is derived through BEMR. BEMR and the current food service web-based software (FNS) production environments are critical for the Bureau of Prison’s Medical, Pharmacy and Food Service operations.
