The Federal Bureau of Prisons and FCI Oxford, located at 350 Elk Avenue in Oxford, Wisconsin, intend to make a single award for a centralized water softener replacement project. The contractor will provide all equipment, labor, materials, and incidentals to remove existing water softeners and install a new centralized system and associated components for the entire institution. The current commercial-grade softeners are failing to efficiently reduce water hardness and protect water systems and connected equipment. The new system is intended to improve water quality, minimize calcium buildup, extend plumbing and appliance service life, and be installed at the water tower so water is treated directly off the water main, eliminating the need for weekly bagged salt deliveries.
