It was determined that the deep well pumps were hit by a lightning strike. This caused pump #3 water tower booster pump and well pump #2 failures. This creates an Urgent and Compelling situation for the Institution due to the impending not being able to adequately provide water to the staff and inmate population. This also affects fire suppression systems at the Federal Correctional Institution and prison camp. This was deemed both a life safety issue and could result in a significant cost to the Government if not acted upon quickly.
