This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation for 15B40319QU8T30010A. Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The combined document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-101. It is being prepared by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution Englewood (FCI), Littleton, Colorado. This acquisition is unrestricted. This package contains all the necessary information required for submitting a quote. FCI Englewood requires the Design and furnish of all materials for a new turnkey Fire Suppression System, per the Statement of Work. This solicitation contains all the necessary information for submitting a quote for evaluation. Submission of Quotes Quotes shall be submitted on or before the quote deadline specified in Block 8 of the Standard Form 1449, page 1 of this solicitation. Emailed quotes will be accepted in .pdf format only and will be deemed received at the time received as indicated on the email notification. Emails rejected by filters are not the responsibility of the government. Quotes received after the quote deadline will be handled in accordance with FAR 52.212-1(f). Quotes shall be submitted to the following address: r16brown@bop.gov. Faxed or Mailed quotes will not be accepted. Each quoter shall complete and submit the following forms, clauses, and statements with his/her quote. Failure to do so may cause your quote to be considered unacceptable. 1. Standard Form 1449 2. Schedule of Items/Contract Pricing 3. Offeror's Representations and Certifications The occupancy group is Ordinary Hazard, Group 2 (attached drawing reflects this change). The fire sprinkler design will need to accommodate one high volume, low speed ceiling fan and address how it will be tied into the fire suppression system in accordance with NFPA 72 High Volume Low Speed (HVLS) Fans. 20.6.7.1 The installation of HVLS fans in buildings equipped with sprinklers, including ESFR sprinklers, shall comply with the following: 1. The maximum fan diameter shall be 24 ft (7.3 m). 2. The HVLS fan shall be centered approximately between four adjacent sprinklers. 3. The vertical clearance from the HVLS fan to sprinkler deflector shall be a minimum of 36 in. (900 mm). 4. All HVLS fans shall be interlocked to shut down immediately upon a waterflow alarm. 5. Where the building is protected with a fire alarm system, this interlock shall be in accordance with the requirements of NFPA 72. Three gas-fired infrared tube heaters will need to be incorporated with the design of the sprinkler system and in accordance with NFPA 54. Manufacturer, Dayton; Model 7D849 150,000 BTUH
