The intent of this project is to renew the external non-skid decking covering on a US Coast Guard cutter in St. Petersburg Florida. Period of Performance is 24September- 25October 2019. LOCATIONS: Fantain and both main decks, approx 1500 sqft CONDITIONS EXISTING: THE EXISTING NON-SKID IS WORN AND HAS LOST THE EFFECTIVENESS TO PROVIDE TRACTION. A NON-SKID RENEWAL IS NEEDED IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE CURRENT NON-SKID FROM BEING A SLIPPING HAZARD TO THE CREW. REFERENCE PLANS/NAME PLATE DATA: 627 WMEC 85-231, SFLC STD SPEC 0000, PARAGRAPH 3.3.3, COMDTINST M10360.3 WORK TO BE ACCOMPLISHED: REMOVE CURRENT NON-SKID. PROTECT NON-AFFECTED VESSEL'S EQUIPMENT, COMPONENTS, AND SPACES DURING SURFACE PREPARATION AND COATING APPLICATION PROCEDURES, AS SPECIFIED IN SFLC STD SPEC 0000, PARAGRAPH 3.3.3 (VESSEL COMPONENT, SPACE, AND EQUIPMENT PROTECTION). WATER-JETTING SHOULD BE THE PREFERRRED METHOD OF SURFACE PREPARATION.ESTIMATED 250 SQ. FT OF MS-660G UV/LSA NON SKID SYSTEM MEETS THAT MEETS REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-SKID APPLICATION IN ACCORADNCE WITH QPL-24667 AND COMDTINST M10360.3, WITH GREY (36076) AS THE TOP/FINISH COAT COLOR. APPLY A DARK GREY COLOR (36076) TOP/FINISH COATING, IN LIEU OF NON-SLIP TOP-COATING OVER THE FOLLOWING NON-SLIP-EXEMPTED AREAS: DECK FITTINGS, AREAS WITHIN TWO INCHES OF DECK FITTINGS, WELDS, PROTRUSIONS, AREAS WITHIN SIX INCHES OF ADJACENT BULKHEADS, DECK COAMING, DECK EDGES, AND WATERWAYS. INTERFERENCES: miscellaneous pipes, fittings, stowed gear. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT: N/A DATE REQUIRED: OCT2019 Area: Port and Starboard Side, Main Deck Frame 68-164 / Fantail Frame 159 - Aft Stern. Work completed per Coast Guard Specifications. Preparation: Containment barrier put up to help with capturing debris to prevent entering water. UHP Blasting per WJ-12 guidelines. Water pumped off deck into holding tank. Deck cleaned of any remaining debris prior to coating application. Coating Application. International Paint or American Safety Products used & applied per manufacturer's specifications. Three primer coats applied consisting of 2 full coat and 1 stripe coat using MS-7CZ at 4.5 DFT per coat. Top coat of non-skid applied using MS-660 UV/LSA.
