Intent of this work item is to renew one-step decking aboard a US Coast Guard Cutter in St. petersburg Florida, P.O.P is September 22-October 25 2019 Quote for new decking on Coast Guard Cutter's Mess-deck and main passageway areas (two separate quotes preferred). Work would include the below for both spaces, essentially remove the current deck, reinstall new decking (blue, same as you have done in the past). Messdeck area is approx. 350sqft (includes the small hallway leading out, up to the passageway door, also includes the small vestibule aft of the messdeck leading to the exterior) Main passageway is 300sqft. WORK TO BE ACCOMPLISHED: 1) REMOVE CURRENT WET DECK AND UNDERLAYMENT. 2) INSPECT STEEL BENEATH, SUBMIT CFR AS APPROPRIATE 3) REINSTALL WET DECK SYSTEM IAW SFLC STD SPEC 6341 APPENDIX A 4) COAT 6 INCHES UP TO FALSE BULKHEAD STEEL IN BLACK PAINT ALONG BASEBOARD OF FLOORING AFTER INSTALL. Deck Covering Renewals •· Intent. This work item describes the requirements for the Contractor to renew deck covering system. •· Protective measures. The Contractor shall furnish and install all protective coverings to seal off and protect all non-affected vessel's components, equipment, and spaces near the work area against contamination during the performance of work. Upon completion of work, the Contractor shall remove all installed protective measures, inspect for the presence of contamination, and return all contaminated equipment, components, and spaces to original condition of cleanliness. •· Interferences. The Contractor shall handle all interferences in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 0000, paragraph 3.3.5 (Interferences). Known interferences include, but are not limited to the following: •• Mess deck tables •• Air handler units •• Multiple counters •· Deck covering installation particulars. The Contractor shall perform all tasks specified in SFLC Std Spec 6341 and herein, to install a new covering system in the location(s) specified below: Mess Deck 1-121-0-L + Vestibule 1-143-2-L : Prox 350 Sq/Ft Passageway 1-108-1-L + Passageway 1-52-01-L: Prox 300 Sq/Ft •· Visual inspection. The Contractor shall perform a visual inspection of all exposed deck surfaces, prior to priming deck surfaces. Submit a CFR. •· Deck covering color. The Contractor shall submit a deck covering color chart to Coast Guard Inspector, for the purpose of color selection. SFLC 6341 Applicable References: 3.2.1.2 Surface preservation. Prepare and coat the exposed deck surfaces, including deck drains, and vertical bounding surfaces (in way of base coving removal), as applicable; as specified below: 3.2.1.2.1 Inspection. Before applying primer coating, perform a visual inspection of the prepared deck surfaces, for signs of corrosion, deterioration, defects, and other abnormalities; submit a CFR. 3.2.1.2.2 Surface coating. Coat all prepared surfaces with one coat, 5.0-6.0 mils DFT of a High Build Epoxy coating, conforming to MIL-PRF-24647 or MIL-PRF-23236. APPENDIX A REQUIREMENTS FOR COSMETIC POLYMERIC EPOXY RESIN DECK COVERING SYSTEMS: EPOXY RESIN TYPE AND CLASS (MIL-PRF-24613) Type III A2.1.1 Cove base. Include a cove base, using the same epoxy resin deck covering system material, to a maximum height of four inches at all adjacent vertical bounding surfaces, where applicable. . A2.1.2 Sealing requirements. A2.1.2.2 Type III system. For "Type III"/"Single Step" system installation, seal the system in accordance with the deck covering system manufacturer's instructions.
