The USCG has a requirement to continue a technical demonstration of a standalone Wi-Fi internet system aboard two (2) Coast Guard large cutters. The purpose of continuing this technical demonstration is to collect data that can be used to further refine the operational and functional requirements for future competitive COMSATCOM projects. These two large cutters use the same equipment, coverage, and bandwidth speeds established under the recently awarded Small Cutter Connectivity IDIQ, but the IDIQ did not explicitely support large cutters. To streamline the ordering of the airtime for this technical demonstration, this sole source action adds these two large cutters to the scope of this IDIQ. This action does not increase the IDIQ ceiling. Attached is the Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, to support this action. Please see the attached Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition. This notice fulfills the posting requirements for FAR 6.305.
