This other than full and open action is being requested in accordance with FAR subpart 6.3 in support of The TSA Canine Training Center (CTC). The CTC in partnership with the National Explosives Detection Canine Team Program (NEDCTP) deploy canines to protect the nation’s transportation infrastructure. These canines work to detect odors from explosives in active, dynamic and potentially distracting environments that are used by the American traveling public. These canines must be resilient and motivated to perform their repetitive tasks and must be undeterred by a high paced and active work place environment. There are twelve (12) Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) that provides Explosive Detection Canines (EDCs). This request is to extend the Period of Performance (PoP) for the eight (8) BPAs with active vendors for an additional 18 months. It has been determined that although there are twelve (12) BPAs four of them are no longer active in SAM.gov therefore these BPAs will not be extended.
