Please see attached RFI. Any questions please email Delfino.B.Saucedo@uscg.mil The Government is issuing this RFI as part of a market survey in accordance with FAR 15.201(e) to determine the potential sources and technical capability of industry to provide the USCG Ice Breaker, Buoy, and Construction Tenders (IBCT) Product Line (PL) Electrical Engineering Division with information about industry ability to provide vane axial fan motors onboard 225-ft cutters. The general requirements for the motor, as specified in the attached Product Requirement Document (PRD), are: 3600 rpm, 1.75 hp, 450 VAC 3-phase 3-wire supply, 2 pole single armature flange-mounted, F-1 Frame FB56CZ Enclosure: spray tight, air-over kVA starting code P Insulation Class F Continuous duty, Service Factor 1.0 Ambient Temperature: 50 deg C Temperature rise 75 deg C Ball bearings Custom C-face drive shaft interface, 4.38” long overall, 0.94” end threaded 5/8-18UNF-2A The driven vane axial fan has the following specifications: Nominal flow rate 2670 CFM Overall dimensions: 26 inches (length) x 18 7/8” (outer diameter), 16 7/16” (inner diameter) Housing material zinc-plated steel in accordance with ASTM B633 Type II Service Condition IV Sources capable of providing replacement of the fan unit at competitive cost compared with custom motor replacement are equally encouraged to respond to the RFI. Fan must meet all mechanical and electrical supply requirements as described above. Equipment lifespan must last for the remaining life of the cutter: approximately 165,000 hours. Equipment shall be designed to meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) and USCG (CFR) regulations for marine travel. This effort includes all the associated environment, safety, and occupational health, configuration management, engineering drawings, item unique identification, integrated logistics support, maintenance planning, power, technical publications, support equipment, and transportability of the motor. The contractor is responsible for providing the motor within the attached guidelines. This RFI is published to obtain information for use by the USCG IBCT PL, for market research and planning purposes only; and is not a Request for Proposal, Invitation for Bid, or an announcement of a solicitation. There is no bid package or solicitation document associated with this announcement. This RFI is part of a continuous process for obtaining the latest information on the commercial status of the industry with respect to current and near-term abilities. Response to this RFI is strictly voluntary and will not affect any potential offeror’s ability to submit an offer if a solicitation is released. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of preparing submissions in response to this RFI and the Government’s use of such information.
