The US Coast Guard is conducting market research and early industry engagement for two engineering modernization packages aboard USCGC HEALY (WAGB-20), planned for the vessel’s FY2029 Maintenance Availability: a new Deaerating Feed Tank, feedwater treatment system, and renewed boiler PLC/burner controls, plus replacement of the steering control system with an open-architecture COTS PLC-based design including RSA/RRB/RAT/SFA upgrades. The Industry Day is scheduled for Oct 26 for the DFT/boiler controls package and Oct 27 for the steering control package, with shoreside sessions at a TBD location and guided shipboard walkthroughs aboard USCGC HEALY. Attendance is restricted to U.S. citizens, limited to three representatives per company, and requires OSHA-compliant PPE for shipboard walkthroughs.
