HEALY-SLEP Industry Day - Deaerating Feed Tank (DFT), PLC-Based Steering Control System Replacement
The U.S. Coast Guard is conducting market research and early industry engagement for two engineering modernization packages aboard USCGC HEALY (WAGB-20): a new Deaerating Feed Tank/feedwater treatment system with renewed boiler PLC and burner sequencing controls, and a COTS PLC-based steering control system replacement. Prototype installations are planned for the vessel’s FY2028 Maintenance Availability. The event will be held Oct 26 for DFT/boiler controls and Oct 27 for steering controls, including shoreside sessions (location TBD) and guided shipboard walkthroughs aboard USCGC HEALY. Attendance is limited to three representatives per company, restricted to U.S. citizens, with OSHA-compliant PPE required for shipboard walkthroughs; cameras and recording devices are prohibited. This notice is for information and acquisition planning only, does not constitute an RFP/RFQ/IFB, and no contract will be awarded or costs reimbursed as a result of participation.
