FPS AD has procured protective security officer services on a noncompetitive basis for up to five (5) months, August 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024, to allow time to solicit and award the competitive follow-on contract as well as to provide adequate time for transition. This action will result in a modification to extend the ordering period under the current contract to allow placement of a task order to continue critical PSO services in Ohio. Task order(s) will only be issued under this contract for the necessary length of time required, but not to exceed Five (5) months. The current contract is set to expire on July 31, 2024. The follow-on procurement is currently in the pre-award phase. As such, this extension will allow time to complete the award as well as provide an adequate transition period to the new effort for this requirement, and prevent a detrimental break in services given the vast geographical area, unique topography, and the wide array of PSO service duties to be performed ranging from roving patrols, manning of fortified positions, operating checkpoints, and providing the rapid deployment of armed security officers at disaster relief areas.
