USCGC Stratton Shaft Alignment and Bearing Reaction Check
The contractor must measure and report vertical and horizontal loads on the two bull gear bearings, two intermediate bearings, and stern/strut bearings using the strain gage method, plus measure vertical load on each line shaft bearing using the hydraulic jack/load cell method aboard USCGC Stratton. Work includes installing five full bridge strain gage sets on the port shaft and five on the starboard shaft, providing all specialty tools and calibrated instrumentation, and completing bearing load calculations. Performance will occur at USCGC Stratton, 42 Eagle Road, Coast Guard Island, Alameda, CA 94501, from 01 November 2026 through 01 January 2027. The contractor must deliver a final written report within 15 days after completion, including alignment calculations/tests, conclusions, recommendations, and specified data sheets. To receive referenced Coast Guard drawings, the contractor must be registered in the Joint Certification Program through DLA and provide its JCP number to the point of contact.
