The Government is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) as part of a market survey in accordance with FAR 15.201(e) to determine the potential sources and technical capability of industry to provide the United States Coast Guard (USCG), Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC), Ice Breaker, Buoy, and Construction Tenders (IBCT) with information about industry ability to provide services to continue installing a technical solution developed for the Machinery Control System on the Bay Class Icebreaking Tug Class (WTGB-140). The USCG is looking for a new primary contractor. This technical solution is documented in drawings and technical publications. The primary change is to remove Nidec-Avtron Addvantage-32 DC drives and to replace with Parker 955+ drives. Subsequently, the Allen Bradley PLCs will require reprogramming and possible upgrade to model 1756-L71.
