Expected award date 28AUG through 31AUG, 2020. Description of Problem: Vessel experienced a casualty of the ZF Marine 2300 reduction gear while underway. Work to be performed: Vendor shall disassemble, inspect and replace the Vulcan coupling in addition to troubleshooting the reduction gear. Vendor will be responsible for providing all travel expenses, for a ZF certified technician to travel and supervise the Vulcan coupling change out and troubleshooting on the reduction gear. CG SFLC requests a CFR to determine the causative factors leading to the failure of the Vulcan coupling. Technicians will utilize only OEM ZF parts in order to complete repairs. If the repairs cannot be completed within the timeline or the location where USCGC OBION is currently moored, the vendor shall provide tow services in addition to temp services (potable water, sewage and electrical connection) to the cutter during the duration of the repair. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Request for Quotations incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-84 dated Nov 1, 2015. The NAICS Code is 336611. The Small Business Size Standard is 7.5M. This is a total small business set aside. All responsible sources may submit proposals that will be considered by the agency.
