The USCG is seeking qualified sources to complete the overhaul and repair of heavy ice breaker Controllable Pitch Propellers (CPP). The USCG owns nine (9) CPP assemblies, three (3) of which are installed on the POLAR STAR (WAGB-10) at any given time. The propellers were originally manufactured by Escher Wyss, which is now a part of Andritz Hydro. Each of the CPP assemblies are comprised of four (4) blades, have a diameter of 16ft, are made of EN30B steel, and weigh approximately 88,500 lbs. SIGNIFICANT WORK TO BE ACCOMPLISHED: Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) Hub Assembly Overhaul Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) Trunnion Renewal Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) Hub Adjusting Crank Renewal; Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) Locknut Renewal Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) Drive Pin Renewal Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) Link Pin Fabrication; and Op-Rod Machining Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) Hub Trunnion Bushing Renewal Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) Hub Trunnion Thread Diameter Restoration Transportation Storage A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated for award. Anticipated POP is from FY19 - FY24. The information obtained from this notice is for market research only and will be used to determine the method of procurement including whether to set-aside the procurement for small business or other set-aside programs. The North American Industry Classification System code (NAICS) is 336611 and the small business size standard is 1,250 employees. Interested parties must submit the following: (a) Company name, business size status (i.e., small, large, 8(a), SDVOSB, WOSB, etc.) (b) Capability to perform work similar to the above work items. (c) Past performance information to demonstrate successful completion as a prime contractor of projects similar in scope and complexity to the work items above.
