Director of Operational Logistics (DOL-44), Mission Essential Personnel Equipment (MEPE) Program is responsible for the day to day the fielding, sustainment, and life cycle management of the NWU Type III. This includes the purchasing, ordering of name tapes, tailoring, and the disposal of uniforms. The Coast Guard has on average 800 uniform sets including 4 uniforms per set (uniform consists of 1 blouse, 1 trouser, and 1 8-Point Cover/Hat). This contract will be looking for the tailor to sewing on of government-furnished insignias, badges, devices, name tapes, and service tapes on the NWU Type III. Contractor must be able to complete a minimum of 30 uniform sets per 24-hour period and must be within a 30-minute drive (one way) from the U.S. Coast Guard Base Support Unit Portsmouth, VA 23703 to ensure ease of drop-off and pickup of uniforms. As the responsibilities for equipment support within the DOL-4 MEPE PL have grown so too has its need for additional logistics support services.
