The United States Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center has a requirement and requesting quotations for the following part: Line: 1 NSN: 5915 22-269-3991 FILTER, AIR AIR FILTER, USED IN THE AIR HANDLING UNIT. ITEM IS A 5 POCKET AIR FILTER USED FOR THE COLLECTION OF FINE DUST PARTICLES IN THE HVAC VENTILATION SYSTEM. ***NOTE*** THIS PARTICULAR AIR FILTER HAS BEEN MODIFIED SLIGHTLY DUE TO THE VENTILATING DUCTING BEING ENLARGED LATER IN THE BUILDING PROCESS. SOME OF THE EARLIER CUTTERS WERE CONCERNED ABOUT THE REDUCED AIR FLOW THRU THESE FILTER BAGS DUE TO THE SMALLER SIZE OF THE DUCTING. THE DUCTING WAS ENLARGED FOR INCREASED AIR FLOW WHICH REQUIRED THE FILTERS TO BE SLIGHTLY MODIFIED TO FIT IN THE DUCTING PROPERLY. RUSS EQUIPMENT TOOK THE DIMENSIONS OF THE DUCTING AND MANUFACTURED LARGER FILTERS TO FIT PROPERLY. THEIR PART NUMBER IS RUAAFALL. EACH ITEM SHALL BE INDIVIDUALLY PACKAGED IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-2073-1E METHOD 10, CUSHIONED AS APPROPRIATE TO PREVENT MOVEMENT AND DAMAGE FROM EXTERNAL IMPACT. EACH ITEM SHALL THEN BE PACKED IN AN APPROPRIATELY SIZED ASTM-D5118 DOUBLE-WALL FIBERBOARD BOX. EACH PACKAGE SHALL BE MARKED IAW MIL-STD-129R EXCEPT BARCODED IAW ISO/IEC-16388-2007, CODE 39 SYMBOLOGY. FAILURE TO MEET REQUIREMENTS FOR PACKAGING, PACKING, MARKING AND BAR-CODING WILL RESULT IN THE ITEM(S) BEING REJECTED AT THE WAREHOUSE AND RETURNED TO THE VENDOR.
