The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center intends on awarding a Firm-Fixed Price bridge contract for six (6) months for the overhaul of ZF BW255 Reduction Gears used on the 87' WPB Patrol Boat fleet. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate solely with ZF Marine Propulsion Systems Miramar. A justification for other than full and open competition is attached to this solicitation. The gears were designed and manufactured by ZF Marine Propulsion Systems Miramar under current contract HSCG40-15-D-11002 for the WPB-87 Patrol Boat Fleet. The USCG PBPL has an ongoing requirement for the continued manufacturing of the gears that will not be fulfilled during the remaining time left on original contract. Items submitted under this solicitation which are other than OEM gears will be rejected as unacceptable.
