This requirement is to procure commercial brand name specific Cisco UCS hardware and software in order to meet and sustain security requirements, remediate recently identified security vulnerabilities, and End of Life (EoL) being reached on current International Business Machines (IBM) Corporation and Hewlett-Packard (HP) hardware. The UCS hardware is necessary for the USCG to continue providing virtual machine and physical server builds in the Cloud and Virtual Server environments that support mission critical applications and mitigate major security vulnerabilities. The Cisco hardware and software procurement will allow the USCG to continue to migrate business systems and applications from the Legacy IBM architecture located on the Kearneysville data floor to the current Cisco architecture that has been in use since 2016 and already meets the security requirements for implementing an RSA solution for PKI Two-Factor Authentication. The following specific equipment and related functionality is required to allow the equipment to be easily integrated with the existing infrastructure already in use thus eliminating new security vulnerabilities. See the attached Brand Name Justification. This notice fulfills the posting requirements of FAR 16.505(b)(2)(ii)(D).
