DESCRIPTION OF WORK: USCG Base Kodiak requires pickup or retrieval, storage, and delivery of all non-US Coast Guard Marine Safety Detachment freight and packages for all Cutters operating in Dutch Harbor area of responsibility. PICKUP AND DELIVERY: The mail service agent will act as the sole delivery point for all mail and freight services in Dutch Harbor. Fedex, USPS, UPS, Alaska Airlines, and any other freight companies may make deliveries to be stored and delivered to the US Coast Guard Cutters that pull into the port of Dutch Harbor. Deliveries will be made within the port of Dutch Harbor within 6 hours of notification. At unit expenses, Mail Agent may be required to forward packages on behalf of the customer, but the responsibility defaults to the requesting unit to pay for shipment fees upfront. Delivery Methods (based upon operational needs): 1) Bulk deliveries of all mail and freight to the Unalaska Marine Center/USCG Pier. 2) Delivery of specific packages (CASREP/vital parts/supplies) to include identification and pictures emailed to customer to USCG small boat when US Coast Guard Cutter is unable to moor at USCG Pier. 3) Cutter pickup at storage facility. STORAGE: All mail, freight, and packages will be sorted by recipient address and stored inside a climate controlled warehouse. BACKGROUND CHECKS: Background checks required during solicitation process.
