The United States Coast Guard (USCG) hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Metalcraft Marine US INC(small business) for the 35107 Collar retrofit and propulsion system upgrade. MetalCraft Marine is the manufacturer of the USCGs 35 LRI vessels and are the only known source to perform the work outlined in the attached SOW. It is the governements belief that Metalcraft Marine is the only contractor that can provide this service. The total estimated value is less than $250,000.00. This sole source contracting action is in accordance with Federal Aquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(2)(b) and 6.303-2 modified to reflect procedures in 13.5 (a)(ii). Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and would not hinder the mission objectives. The determination not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive solicitation for future requirements regarding work of this type. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice. This is NOT a request for quotes or proposals.
