The United States Coast Guard (USCG) hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source firm fixed price URGENT purchase order to MASRTY ENGINE CENTER LLC for the a re-power of the USCG hull 23140. Company Name: MASRTY ENGINE CENTER LLC (SMALL BUSINESS) (See attached justification [JOTFOC]) The total estimated value is less than $25,000.00. This sole source contracting action is in accordance with Federal Aquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(2)(b) and 6.303-2 modified to reflect procedures in 13.5 (a)(ii). This is an urgent job to re-power the 23140 (CGC VENTUROUS) and return the vessel to fully mission capable status. MASTRY is a YANMAR distributor and has all required supplies and qualified workforce to complete the job immediately. Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and would not hinder the mission objectives. The determination not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive solicitation for future requirements regarding work of this type. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice. This is NOT a request for quotes or proposals.
