The United States Coast Guard (USCG) hereby submits a notice of intent to award a firm fixed price purchase order to Fred Wahl marine and Construction for an urgent unplanned 47MLB drydock and repair. Company Name: Fred Wahl marine and Construction USCG Unit is in a remote region of the U.S. The USCG has limited options in this region to have urgent work of this manner performed. The only other qualified contractor in the local trade area/region was solicited. (See attached justification [JOTFOC]) The total estimated value is less than $250,000.00. This sole source contracting action is in accordance with Federal Aquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(2)(b) (urgent)) and 6.303-2 modified to reflect procedures in 13.5 (a)(ii). This hereby constitutes a synopsis of the item/s included in this requirement. Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and would not hinder the mission objectives. The determination not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive solicitation for future requirements of this type. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice. This is NOT a request for quotes or proposals.
