The U.S. Coast Guard Yard is seeking qualified sources that can deliver metal plate, sheet metal, and structural shapes to the U.S. Coast Guard Yard, Curtis Bay, Baltimore, MD. Commercial certifications are generally required, although ABS certifications may be required for new construction or repairs to ABS Classed vessels. The Yard’s intends to request quotes and place orders based on quotes. If more than one source is qualified orders may be competed among sources. The Yard would like to better understand supplier capabilities. 1. How long are quoted prices typically guaranteed? 2. What types of materials are readily available and are typically stocked? 3. What types of materials have longer lead times or are special orders? 4. What is the expected delivery time to the Yard? 5. Does your company have the ability to stage materials and deliver them when requested? For example, an order may require delivery of materials in six months.
